We do not let our chooks breed, as there is an overwhelming strain on already overloaded system. However, this broody hen at the sanctuary hid her nest and eggs, until it was too late for me to risk taking eggs away. The result was these two cuties! In the photos they are a week old.

The only thing I can say is that these chicks are going to have a great life unlike their mom !!!
we will attempt that. They are so tiny and we have so many predators out at the sanctuary. I was given the most amazing movable ‘play pen’ with a shade cloth roof. Have put them in that in the garden with mum. They can still dig in grass and learm what they need to do, but are hopefully safe!
